As the American Red Cross of the Western Carolinas works to meet the needs of thousands of community residents each year, we have come to rely on the phenomenal fundraising results of “An Affair with Flair” Fine Wine Auction. Since its inception over 19 years ago, this extraordinary and highly anticipated event has raised well over $2.2 million to support the programs and services of the American Red Cross. From the relief items provided to disaster victims, to the emergency lifesaving First Aid and CPR training provided to local community residents, the American Red Cross provides life-changing services in our community and depends on the generosity of this event’s sponsors, patrons and donors to keep these vital programs available.
This Red Cross signature fundraising event has been distinguished as one of the top five events throughout the country by our national organization and has quickly become the top social event in our community. It is attended by the affluent and influential of Greenville, S.C. and beyond. In addition to sponsor dinners and wine tasting events throughout the weekend, Saturday evening’s black tie Gala is one of Greenville’s hottest tickets and attracts guests from as far away as New York. Vintners and proprietors from wine estates are flown to Greenville and donate their time to the American Red Cross. The wine celebrities join the Gala and pour a selection of their personal wines during the fine wine tasting and silent auction, where bidders compete for fabulous gifts and packages. The tasting and silent auction is followed by an exquisite seated dinner and live auction featuring exceptional wines, unique food experiences, and one-of-a-kind travel opportunities. The night concludes with a live band, dancing, and a wonderful time to relax with old friends and enjoy making new acquaintances.

2012 Red Cross Wine Auction A Success
The 2012 Red Cross Wine Auction raised $280,528.00 for the Red Cross, and allowed us to continue funding existing Red Cross programs. From the relief items provided to disaster victims, to the emergency lifesaving First Aid and CPR Training provided to local community residents, The American Red Cross provides life-changing services in our community. The "Affair With Flair" event has raised well over $2.2 million over the past 19 years to assure that these programs can continue.
